About The Bowen Room
The Bowen Room is Jill Westenra's Bowen therapy practice in Fendalton, Christchurch. Bowen therapy uses gentle rolling moves over specific points on muscles, ligaments and tendons to release tension held in the connective tissue (fascia). Sessions last about an hour, and Jill recommends two sessions five to seven days apart to start. She describes Bowen as suitable for anyone from babies to the elderly, and people come to her seeking relief from pain, injury and tension, as well as help for children with concentration and sleep. Jill states she is a qualified ISBT-credited Bowen therapist trained with the International School of Bowen Therapy, has trained in postural assessment with Kelly Clancy, and previously worked as a nutritionist in public health after postgraduate study at the University of Otago. She also offers one-on-one chi gong classes and nutrition consultations.
